Once upon a time I took myself very seriously (and on occasion still do) but these days I prefer to love what I love. I’m a huge sports fan but there are plenty of days when I’d rather read than do anything else. And I’ll read just about anything—from science to Stephanie Plum to boy wizards to baseball. Baseball really is my first love but some of my happiest rainy Sundays have passed on the couch watching my Raiders. I have a deep and abiding love for “The Vampire Diaries” but am also addicted to “Mad Men”, “The Walking Dead”, “The Big Bang Theory” and “Parks and Recreation.” There’s also something very rewarding about spending hours watching old episodes of “The X-Files.”

I come from a big, close family and we all live within a 15-mile radius of each other. I’m fortunate to have all four of my grandparents still living, even though I don’t spend nearly enough time with any of them. I went to college for a Journalism degree (did I mention I love my Ducks?!) but somehow work in insurance. I have surprised myself, however, by loving it, particularly since starting my new job two weeks ago. I adore traveling but of course don’t do nearly enough of it.
